Straightforward Fees, So You Know What to Expect
When you book a skin check, you should have a clear idea of what your appointment may cost.
At OJ Clinics in East Toowoomba, we keep our fee structure straightforward. Your appointment is with a doctor and may include dermoscopy where clinically appropriate. If something needs further investigation or treatment, we will explain the next step and the likely costs before proceeding wherever possible.
Standard Skin Check
If you are coming in for a routine skin check and do not have a particularly complex skin cancer history, a standard appointment will usually be appropriate.
Dr Jindal will examine your skin and use dermoscopy where needed to take a closer look at individual spots or moles.

If your examination requires considerably more time because of multiple lesions or a more complex history, a longer consultation fee may apply.
Long or Complex Skin Check
Some skin checks simply need more time.
You may need a longer appointment if you have many moles, several spots you are worried about, significant sun damage, a previous melanoma or a history of multiple skin cancers.
The extra time allows your doctor to examine areas of concern carefully rather than rushing through the appointment.

Total Body Photography
Sometimes it is difficult to remember whether a mole has always looked that way.
Total Body Photography (TBP) creates a photographic baseline of your skin so that changes can be compared over time. It can be particularly useful for people with many moles or those who may benefit from ongoing skin surveillance.
Total Body Photography: $249
TBP does not replace a skin check. It works alongside clinical examination and dermoscopy where these are required.
Your doctor can discuss whether TBP would be useful for you.
What If We Find Something?
Most people understandably become concerned when they hear that a spot needs another look.
A suspicious lesion does not automatically mean skin cancer.
Depending on what your doctor sees clinically and with dermoscopy, the next step may simply be monitoring. In other situations, a photograph, biopsy or removal may be recommended.
We will explain what we have found, why we are recommending the next step and what it is likely to cost.
Biopsy and Procedure Fees
Skin procedures are not all the same.
A small biopsy is very different from removing a larger skin cancer, and some areas—particularly the face, nose or ear—may require more involved reconstruction.
For this reason, we don’t use one price for every procedure.
Where a planned procedure is recommended, we will explain the anticipated fee and likely Medicare rebate before treatment wherever practicable.
